We believe that a piece of fruit a day keeps the doctor away, that's
exactly why we donate to children's charities.
The Princess Margaret Hospital
The PMH treats and cares for more than 30,000 sick and injured children every year. Up until now, 1% of proceeds from basket sales will be generously donated to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. This is a continuation of the work we have done in 2010. In 2003, Wembley resident Dorothy Surman left her entire estate to PMH with a desire that it be used to help Western Australian sick and injured children. The money from her estate was used to purchase a property on Hay Street, very close to PMH, that could be used by the hospital as an outpatient and support facility. Now named Dorothy Surman House, the building is used to support various clinics from PMH - in fact, it's used to support outpatient programs by a different group almost daily. On Mondays, there is a clinic for new migrant families which works primarily with refugee children. Unfortunately, some of these kids have seen the worst of humanity and have often come from refugee camps where the conditions are pretty atrocious. One issue that most of the children have is that they don't have regular access to fresh fruit, which the clinical staff wanted to resolve. Fruit-Express Direct eagerly jumped on-board this program to support the migrant children by supplying lovely fresh fruit to the clinic. The children and parents are being educated on the benefits of fresh fruit and which fruits are the best for them.Red Cross

The programme aims to provide a healthy nutritious breakfast daily to primary school children all around Australia. Many kids do not get breakfast in the mornings for one reason or another. The secondary aim is to provide the opportunity for students to learn and develop social, living and nutritional skills. A donation of fruit from Fruit-Express Direct every week helps make Breakfast Club interesting and varied. To find out more about this volunteer run program visit the website.Ronald McDonald House
